The Communication and Public Relations Coordinator works to plan, develop, and manage strategies for proactive communication and public relations that informs, connects, and engages students, staff, parents and community members; prepares and publishes school district publications.


  1. Ability to communicate clearly, orally, and in written form with staff, students and parents.
  2. Ability to prepare and/or process media releases, District publications, reports, brochures, scripts, manuals, calendars, newsletters, memos, correspondence, etc.
  3. Ability to build coalitions with elected officials, community leaders, business leaders, community members to enhance support for District programs and issues.
  4. Ability to manage the District website and other social media initiatives.
  5. Working knowledge of inputting, importing, and exporting data from various systems using various file formats.
  6. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the function of the job including using pertinent software applications, planning and managing projects.
