Duties
Teach students with hearing loss skills needed to navigate life - language, including sign language, self advocacy, and listening comprehension are some example skills to teach. Case manage students with hearing loss regarding IEP development, evaluation, etc. Participate as a member of a community of DHH educators.
Qualifications
Most hold a teacher licensure as a DHH teacher in Illinois.
Salary/Benefits
Starting salary - $45,000 per year, and additional years gain additional steps. All prior years are considered for placement on the schedule, including years in a private/parochial setting. Max starting salary is $95,879.
