Job Summary:
The Controller applies principles of accounting, analyzes financial information, and prepares financial reports for the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services. The Controller assists the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services in the coordination of all financial functions for the District, including, computing, classifying, recording, and verifying numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records.

Job Duties/Essential Functions:
- Implements, modifies, documents, and maintains accounting systems, accounting control procedures, and accountability measures for:
- the collection of money at school sites;
- school fundraisers;
- school field trips;
- staff compensation for extracurricular activities
- Assumes the duties of the Transportation Coordinator in their absence;
- Generates supporting documentation for the pupil transportation claim;
- Creates quarterly correspondence for billing school districts for McKinney Vento reimbursements;
- Manages the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program, including monthly claim reports, and monitoring of each school site for compliance;
- Manages the Child and Adult Care Food Program, including monthly claim reports, and monitoring of each school site for compliance;
- Oversee the Federal and State grants for amendments and accurate expenditures;
- Coordinates the preparation of and files the Federal and State grant expenditures;
- Assist in budget development both at a site/departmental and district level;
- Reviews the District’s accounting and budget records and investigates variances;
- Analyzes accounts payable and accounts receivables procedure;
- Assumes the duties Business Office Secretary in their absence;
- Oversees the annual audit of the student activity accounts;
- Oversees the credit card procurement process;
- Maintains positive public relations and is courteous with the community, staff, and students;
- Establishes and maintains good rapport with support staff;
- Displays understanding of and acts in accordance with the educational goals and policies of the school district;
- Respects confidential information and maintains professional ethics concerning District, staff, and student information;
- Maintains a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Working Conditions: 12 month position. 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
