Duties
Lead a self-contained special education classroom serving students with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral disorders, and other health impairments. Classroom programming includes sensory, communication, and behavioral support systems which are integrated within the environment to meet the individual needs of the students. Curriculum includes a combination of functional academic learning, daily living skills, and pre-vocational programming that is individualized based on student needs.
Primary Duties
- Design and implement lesson plans based on student ability levels and needs as outlined in IEPs.
- Manage classroom behaviors with the help of support staff and the SEAL behavioral points program.
- Collaborate with counselors, SLP's, and OT's to support the students and identify areas of need.
- Assess and collect student data specific to academic and behavioral goals.
- Prepare documentation for and participate in IEP meetings.
- Prepare documentation for report cards and quarterly goal updates.
- Participate in weekly Professional Learning Communities.

Salary/Benefits
From $52,000 (Sign On Bonus Available)

Monday – Friday 8:00AM-3:30PM
Academic calendar plus 3-day/week summer school session
Locations in Lombard, Romeoville, Elgin and Yorkville.
