Position Title: Crossing Guard
Report To: Principal (s), Director of Organizational Planning and Facilities

Summary:
- To direct students when it is safe to cross the street and when they should wait.
Qualifications:
- Have earned a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Present evidence of a physical exam to determine "fit for duty", evidence of being free from communicable disease (TB), and submit to a criminal background check.
Physical Demands:
- Standing for 80-90% of the time and walking 10-20% of the time for a period of up to 30 minutes.
- Must be able to navigate street crossing areas which may include concrete curbs.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to work in inclement weather conditions such as wind, rain, snow, ice, sun, heat, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to implement proper procedures for safely crossing streets.
- Ability to interact with children and families in a positive manner.
- Ability to report safety concerns to appropriate authority.
Evaluation:
- Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
