Duties
Serve under the direction and supervision of the teacher to perform responsible human support to achieve instructional objectives; assisting students with disabilities with achieving established goals; and assisting students with personal care.
Qualifications
Must be at least 19 years of age and one of the following: 1) Associates Degree or higher; 2) 60 hours of coursework; 3) High School Diploma or GED and a score of 460 or higher on the ETS Parapro; or 4) High School Diploma or GED and a score of 4 or higher on the ACT Workkeys Applied Mathematics and Reading for Information tests.
Additional Notes
Supervises and assists in the management of students within the standards and under the supervision of the certified staff. Oversees academic work under the supervision, planning and preparation of the certified staff. Supervises and assists in the social integration of assigned students and facilitates and encourages the independent functioning of the student(s) wherever and whenever possible.
