Duties
We are seeking a passionate and student-centered Junior High English Language
Arts Teacher to join our team. Unity Junior High School has approximately 370 students from 5 different
rural communities and is located 8 miles south of the University of Illinois campus. For more information

Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver standards-aligned ELA curriculum
* Teach reading comprehension, literary analysis, grammar, vocabulary, writing, and research
skills
* Facilitate collaborative learning activities that promote critical thinking and textual analysis
* Guide students through the writing process, including drafting, revising, and editing
* Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
* Provide timely, constructive feedback on student work
* Develop and administer formative and summative assessments
* Maintain accurate attendance and grading records
* Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration
* Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
Qualifications
Qualifications:
* Valid state teaching license in English Language Arts in grades 6-8
* Strong knowledge of literacy development and instructional best practices
* Classroom management and organizational skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication

Salary: Salary will be commensurate with candidate’s qualifications and experience as determined by a
competitive salary schedule. Other benefits include:
