Duties
- Assume all responsibilities and duties assigned of the absent teacher.
- Implement lesson plans (aligned with State Standards) provided by the classroom teacher that fulfill the requirements of the District’s curriculum program. For multi-day/long term assignments, this position is expected to create/develop lesson plans that are aligned with State Standards as well as the scope and sequence of the District Curriculum.
- Implement classroom teacher designed lesson plans that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles, use appropriate instructional strategies and materials.
- Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curriculum (make accommodations) as need for special education students according to guidelines established in the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Will be available to substitute for certified and/or noncertified positions at any school in the district as needed.
- Assist with educational activities.
- Be a positive role model for students.
- Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students.
- Develop positive relationships with students and implement the PBIS Program for the classroom to proactively manage student behavior in accordance with District 167 policies and procedures.
- Administer/Proctor local and state assessments
- Supervise non-classroom duties when assigned.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Provide formative and/or summative feedback (grades and progress reports) for multi-day/long term assignments
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other documents required.
- Report all student injuries, accidents and illnesses to building administrator.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families and staff personnel information.
- Uphold computer technology acceptable use policies.
- Participate fully in Open Houses, Parent Teacher
Conferences, Family Nights, etc. and maintain positive and timely communications/feedback with parents/families
- Follow all contractual responsibilities, expectations, and duties outlined in the collective bargaining agreement of the Glenwood Education Association (GEA), all Board
Policies, and all Procedures outlined in the
School/District Faculty Handbook
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary/Benefits
Salary will be determined based on the current GEA salary schedule
