Duties
A special education teacher is the case manager for students on their case load. The program currently operates in a self contained format with students pushed out to the regular classrooms as behavior allows. Grant is a 5th-8th grade building and the ED program has students in all grades. Delivering instruction, grades, monitoring behavior (and charting), teaching social emotional coping skills, and coordinating with regular education staff on curriculum and assignments as needed.
Qualifications
IL certificate for special education preferred. However, a valid IL certificate with intent to obtain endorsement will be accepted.
Salary/Benefits
Salary based on collective bargaining agreement. Starting salary for 23-24 is $41,745. District will give credit for prior years of service for movement on the schedule.
