Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Responsible for the management, supervision, development and implementation of appropriate systems and WAN/LAN network infrastructure in accordance with the District Strategic and Technology Plans.
  2. Identify needs and develop solutions to improve systems and networks for the benefit of all students and staff.
  3. Ensure that the network and information systems support the goals and learning initiatives as established by the District.
  4. Support the integration of technology, programs and resources to students, establishing student academic achievement as the highest priority.
  5. Work with and implement recommendations from the District Strategic and Technology plans.
  6. Maintain both WAN and LAN infrastructures to support learning technologies at all Rich Township High School
  7. Ensure the empowerment of students, faculty, and staff through access to the information and tools needed to be successful learners.
  8. Maintain student management system including grades, attendance, scheduling and discipline modules.
  9. Explore new and innovative uses for the integration of technology to improve student achievement.
  10. Optimize the use of existing and planned investments in systems and technology.
  11. Develop and maintain security measures for all networks and systems.
  12. Recommend, review and approve all District and campus technology purchases.
  13. Develop annual budget for the technology department.
  14. Direct and manage technology personnel.
  15. Manage and lead district wide administration of state testing in conjunction with designated administrative personnel.
  16. Identify technology grants and facilitate data to contribute to proposal development and funds acquisition.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:          

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. At least five years experience in the field of technology in an educational or business environment.
  3. Three to five years intensive experience with personal computer hardware and software including local area network (LAN) technology.
  4. Previous experience with AS/400 systems and Pearson’s PowerSchool student management software preferred.
  5. Proven administrative skills in management, project control, resource allocation, budgeting and planning.
