High School Social Studies Teacher

Duties

Position: HS Social Studies with opportunities for extra curricular activities

Instructional Assignment / Duties

  • World Social Studies; Government; Economics; Sociology; other social studies electives;
  • RtI Support and study hall; 
  • Extra-curricular openings are available. 

Preferred Skills/Interests/Experiences

  • Prior teaching experience and/or additional endorsements; 
  • Strong Reading and Writing instructional strategies
  • Knowledge of project-based learning and hands-on learning; 
  • Technology Integration / one-to-one environment; 
  • Small Group Instruction, Differentiation, Data Analysis, Positive Classroom Management; 
  • Opportunities for sponsorship/coaching for extra-curricular activities

Qualifications

  • Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Social Science endorsement as required by the Illinois State Board of Education
    Or Provisional certification with pathway to full licensure
  • Strong commitment to Tri-Point Community;
  • Self-Starter who finds a way to “yes” when faced with challenges
  • Flexible and innovative in instructional design and delivery;
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students and parents;
  • Desire to contribute to the successful reputation of the organization;
  • A belief that all students can learn and be successful

Salary/Benefits

Regionally competitive as per collective bargaining agreement. Benefits include: board paid single health insurance and board paid TRS, tuition reimbursement and professional development opportunities.  We will give years and education.

Salary Range w/board paid TRS: $43,010.99 - $70,439.55 based on experience and education

Benefits : Board Paid $25,000 Life Insurance and Board Paid $550 towards Individual Health Insurance.  Board will pay an additional $100 for employees that choose  Employee+Spouse or Employee+Child and an additional $200 for employees that choose  Employee + Family.
