Duties

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1.  Conduct/review interventions for students identified through Problem Solving   

       process.

  2.  Perform diagnostic assessments for students enrolled in district area schools (private  

       schools and preschoolers).

  3.  Perform case management duties for pre-referral (intervention), initial, reevaluations 

       and annual meetings.

  4.  Act as a team leader for special education personnel, facilitating meetings, setting agenda,  

       monitoring inventory and professional resource library.

  5.  Use technology for assessment, communication and documentation.

  6.  Liaison between administrators and teachers to communicate teachers and building for special 

       student needs.

  7.  Participate in professional development workshops to advance personal professional 

       knowledge for team leader responsibility.

  8.  Participate in building level programs such as PBIS, Instructional Data, Decision Making 

       Meetings, RTI, etc.

  9.  Keep accurate records for support services to communicate to district office.

10.  Review new student files to identify special education needs.

11.  Perform student observations.

12.  Act as special education coordinator for individual eligibility education, 504 plan, and service 

       plan meetings.

13.  Perform other duties and assume responsibilities as may be assigned by the superintendent or 

       designee and in accordance with terms stipulated in the current contract.

Salary/Benefits

 In accordance with the Professional Negotiation Agreement with the South Berwyn Education Association.

REPORTS TO:    Director of Special Education

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:    Ten month year.  

EVALUATION:            Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions 

                        of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
