Speech-Language Pathologist

Duties

Cass School District 63 is seeking two permanent, full-time speech-language pathologists for the 2026-27 school year. This is a great opportunity in a wonderful school district in the western suburbs of Chicago. The two positions are as follows:

Preschool and Kindergarten Speech-Language Pathologist

Responsibilities: This position involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech/language disorders (articulation, language, fluency, voice) in young children, creating and implementing IEPs, collaborating with teachers and parents, using augmentative and alternative communication, and fulfilling documentation and reporting requirements. In addition to other grade levels as assigned, this position is fully integrated into the district's Preschool for All program. Other general responsibilities and expectations include having a strong knowledge of assessment and interventions, a willingness to collaborate effectively with all staff, communicating with parents and staff, following and implementing effective MTSS processes and procedures, and balancing direct therapy with planning, meetings, and paperwork. This position may include homebound instruction if needed.

1st through 8th Grade Speech-Language Pathologist

Responsibilities: This position involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech/language disorders (articulation, language, fluency, voice), creating and implementing IEPs, collaborating with teachers and parents, using augmentative and alternative communication, and fulfilling documentation and reporting requirements. Other general responsibilities and expectations include having a strong knowledge of assessment and interventions, a willingness to collaborate effectively with all staff, communicating with parents and staff, following and implementing effective MTSS processes and procedures, and balancing direct therapy with planning, meetings, and paperwork. This position is expected to work itinerantly at both the elementary and junior high levels, and may include homebound instruction if needed.

Qualifications

In addition to being a child-centered speech-language pathologist who works well as part of a dynamic team and staff, the successful candidates must hold a valid Illinois Type 73 School Service Personnel license with a Speech Language Pathologist endorsement for the grade levels served.

Salary/Benefits

A highly competitive salary and benefit package will be offered to the successful candidates, per the teacher collective bargaining agreement. Final salary will be commensurate with each candidate's experience and qualifications.
