Duties
Position Overview
Promote a positive learning environment through collaborative leadership, developed positive relationships with students, families, staff and the community, and provide assistance to the principal in the administration of the total school program. Provide leadership assistance for the development, promotion and implementation of the District’s mission and goals.
Qualifications
Qualifications – Experience and Education
Master’s degree in education
Principal licensure per Illinois certification requirements
Five years of teaching experience preferred
Strong background in social emotional learning
Strong background in curriculum and instruction
Strong background in Instructional Technology preferred
Successful completion of ISBE PERA training preferred
Utilize applicable technology to support performance responsibilities

Responsibilities:
Assist the principal in the supervision and evaluation of certified and noncertified staff
Provide leadership in student behavior programming
Manage curriculum development and implementation
Assist the principal in the oversight of special education programs, and student 504 programs,
including attending IEP, 504, and annual review meetings
Assist in the creation of master schedule for teachers and school
Plan with principal staff development activities and team/subject/building meeting
agendas
Coordinate standardized testing
Oversee safety procedures, working with cooperating agencies to promote a safe
learning environment for the educational community
Assist the principal in coordinating facility usage and needs, school events and calendar of
activities, and building schedules
Together with the principal, promote a positive and safe learning environment, through a
developed tiered intervention system (Multi-Tiered System of Support), Social Emotional
Learning activities, and positive behavior recognition and support
Assist in addressing student behavior concerns, interacting with families, and/or supporting
agencies to seek the best means to promote positive student behaviors
Assist in transitional activities for students entering middle school
Oversee student attendance records and procedures, addressing concerns with parents,
staff, and/or supporting agencies to best promote regular daily attendance for all students
Develop and monitor management procedures for lunch, rec/study hall, and bus
Assist in the coordination and supervision of student activities, athletics, special student programs
and student assemblies
Other responsibilities as assigned by the principal
District:
Serve as a member of the District Administrative Team
Serve or lead district level and/or building level committees
Attend meetings of the Board of Education, PTO, and other parent/community meetings
Complete other assignments and/or special projects as requested by the superintendent
Salary/Benefits
Salary range of $80,000-$100,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
