Duties
Essential Functions
- Coordinates the implementation of all aspects of each programmatic area
- Ensures that appropriate employees have necessary student information (IEP, etc.)
- Organizes professional development in each program as necessary
- Prepares federal, state and local reports as required
- Prepares weekly updates for Board of Education and submits to Superintendent
- Attends Board of Education meetings and reports to the Board of Education as requested on topics
- Utilizes continuous improvement processes and tools to increase quality, efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction
Special Education:
- Oversees program and services
- Ensures compliance with federal and state laws
- Coordinates all special education services (Pre-K through transition age 21)
- Supervises Speech Pathologists, Psychologists and Social Workers
- Facilitates Special Education Community Advisory Committee
- Collaboratively works with parents and community service members
Social Emotional and Behavioral Learning (SEBL):
- Coordinates the implementation of the District’s SEBL Plan, working closely with principals and counselors
- Coordinates District’s At-Risk program
English Language Learners (ELL) and 504:
- Provides oversight to ESL & MTSS Coordinator
- Provides oversight to building Guidance Counselors on 504 best practices and implementation
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Illinois General Administrative Endorsement required
- Illinois Director of Special Education Endorsement required

- Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels, board members, and the general public
- Adaptable to different work scenarios and schedules. Able to prioritize efforts in order to achieve a student-focused solution
- Proficient in standard office software applications
- Ability to collaborate and provide shared leadership
Salary/Benefits
Starting pay negotiable - $90,000/annually
