Duties
Under the direction of the certified teacher:
- Assist in the educational and social development of students.
- Provide instructional reinforcement in small groups or with individual students.
- Assist with the classroom behavioral management system.
- Tutor and assist students with makeup work.
- Ensure that students follow school and class rules.
Participate in professional development activities.
Perform clerical and supportive tasks for teachers.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Paraprofessional license, at minimum.
Strong interpersonal skills, patience, compassion, and empathy.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as textbooks, teacher manuals, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to identify sensitive information and observe strict confidentiality.
Bilingual communication skills a plus.
