Duties

Donovan CUSD #3 is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated music educator to join our team for the upcoming school year. This full-time position includes teaching general music to students in grades K–5, as well as leading band and choir programs for grades 6–12.

We are a small, close-knit rural district that takes pride in strong relationships, supportive staff, and a student-centered approach. This is a great opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about building a comprehensive music program and making a meaningful impact across all grade levels.

Responsibilities Include:

• Teaching elementary general music (K–5)
• Directing middle and high school band and choir
• Planning and leading concerts and performances throughout the year
• Creating engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons for a wide range of learners
• Building positive relationships with students, families, and staff
• Supporting and growing student interest and participation in music programs

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsements
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and administration
• Passion for music education and student engagement

Salary/Benefits

Per Donovan CUSD #3 CBA + $2000 sign-on bonus
