Duties
POSITION GOAL: Provides guidance on and implements literature circles, provides direct instruction in writing, implements online programs as needed, and project-based leaming.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitates and implements learning focused on the Civil Rights Movement
- Focuses on student leadership and civic engagement
- Provides writing mini-lessons
- Instructs and then guides community mentors
- Attendance at some field trips
- General classroom types of responsibilities KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL SKILLS:
- Excellent relationships with adults and students
- Some knowledge of the Peoria community and region
- Excellent organizational skills
- Technical skills (Word, Excel and One Drive)
- Knowledge of the Civil Rights Movement (preferred)
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience scheduling and running programs
- Experience working with adults and students
- Certified educator preferred; Must have associates degree at minimum Lifelong learner

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 4-6 hours per week, some flexibility in days/hours worked
