Duties
Position Summary
The Regional Office of Education SEL Culture and Climate Coach provides expert guidance and professional learning in the areas of climate, culture, mental health, social emotional learning, and trauma informed practices. The coach is responsible for developing new relationships and partnerships with districts, schools, educational organizations, and non-educational organizations. New relationships will be leveraged to effectively address and build capacity for implementing strategies to mitigate the impact of emotional and behavioral health on student success.
Specific Duties/Expectations
- Conduct assessment and develop an action plan based on data collected
- Coordinate, facilitate, and support professional learning opportunities for emotional and behavioral health, culture, climate, SEL and Trauma-informed practices (TIP) to local school districts, educational programs, and non-educational programs.
- Enhance and/or establish new partnerships with local, county, and state-wide organizations.
- Complete required trainings.
- Develop systems for building capacity and expanding “sphere of influence” for all programs of development.
- Create, monitor, and keep detailed paper and digital records as appropriate for training.
- Provide ongoing technical assistance.
- Maintains list of consultants.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Regional Superintendent.
- Provide a quantitative and qualitative data driven summary to update on progress towards goals to Hub Steering Committee.
- Participate in monthly community of practice meetings to discuss progress.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field, Master's preferred
Illinois Professional Educator License with proper endorsement
Experience in SEL practices or similar background
Ability to effectively use computer-based programs (Office, Google, etc.)
Effective oral and written communications skills
Salary/Benefits
Pay is $50 per hour
Mileage reimbursement provided
