Duties

Job Summary:   The District-Wide Technician performs a full range of system administration functions requiring a technical computer support background.  Responsibilities include installing and configuring network devices, diagnosing and resolving communications, hardware, and operating system problems, implementing, and monitoring system security procedures, and advising agency management on systems development. 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and an Associate’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in computer information systems or a directly related field required;
  • Three years’ experience working in technology related positions that require the ability to troubleshoot computer problems (hardware and/or software) preferred;
  • Prior successful experience working with network systems preferred;
  • Knowledge of computer application design and proper computer system data security/backup procedures;
  • Ability to install computer hardware and software, as well as diagnose and troubleshoot computer system problems;
  • Ability to load and optimize utilization of advanced computer software and operating systems;
  • Strong communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a strong commitment to teamwork;
  • Ability to react well under pressure, handle and balance multiple demands at one time, work with frequent interruptions, and perform duties and tasks at expected levels of professionalism;
  • Valid state of Illinois driver’s license;
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Salary/Benefits

Salary:

 

  • Starting salary range $41,000 - $44,750.
  • Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a competitive benefits package;
  • Employee assistance program offered to employees and their immediate family members;
  • Full-time, twelve-month position.
