Duties
The teacher assistant will assist the teachers and school with various assigned duties including classroom work, supervision of student(s) (e.g. bus, lunch, playground, assemblies, etc.) and other duties assigned by the building administrator.
Qualifications
ParaPro or Substitute Teacher License, required
The Short Term ParaPro license. is also acceptable for those with only a High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent
To get licensure:
Create an ELIS account (How-To-Create-ELIS-Acct.pdf (isbe.net)
Apply for the approval as follows:
- from ELIS home page, click apply for credential
- select approval
- select short term approval for Paraprofessional
- answer the questions
- $50 application fee
- Send high school evidence to: licensure@lake.k12.il.us along with IEIN number
Salary/Benefits
The Lake Forest School District provides a competitive salary (starting rate of $21), 95% single health insurance, tuition reimbursement, retirement benefits and many much.
Additional stipends are available for those who toilet students or assist with after school sports, clubs, or other programs.
