Duties

Lake Forest Public School Districts 67 and 115 is seeking a part time Human Resources Assistant for an immediate opening. The position is 4 hours per day and without benefits.
 
Description: The Human Resources Assistant provides support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Administration Center and is responsible for duties within the Human Resources Department. 

 

Administrative Center Receptionist Responsibilities:

  • Welcome visitors by greeting and directing them to the proper location or person.
  • Answer, screen, and forward any incoming phone calls from the Districts’ main lines while providing general information about Districts’ events and/or operations.
  • Receive and sort daily mail and deliveries.
  • Maintain security by following outlined procedures.
  • Perform other clerical duties such as sorting, filing, and photocopying.

AESOP/Substitute Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Enroll new employees in Aesop.
    • Manage on-boarding process for substitutes.
    • Develop and provide on-going resources for substitutes.
    • Maintain AESOP system setup under direction of the Director of Human Resources and/or Director of Business Services.
    • Coordinate District 67 faculty and staff substitute requests and assign/fill vacancies.
    • Maintain communication with Human Resources and Payroll staff regarding substitutes.
    • Maintain communication with District 67 Administrators and Secretaries regarding AESOP and substitute coordination concerns.
    • Maintain communication with District 115 Faculty Secretary regarding AESOP and substitute coordination concerns.

Absence Management Responsibilities

  • Communicate with administrators and employees on leave matters.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate student teaching and observation requests.
  • Schedule job interviews and assist with the interview process.
    • Maintain Global Compliance Network with employee names and assignment(s).
    • Organize employee benefit related events.
    • Assist in preparation for compliance audits.
    • Complete data entry/collection, reports, and other human resource related duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience and/or post-secondary training in human resources.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite and school-based business management information systems.
  • Follow all Board of Education policies and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively – written and verbal.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Outgoing, friendly, and customer focused.
  • Comfortable and pleasant demeanor in very busy environments.                                                              
  • Demonstrates leadership abilities and must be a team player.                                    
  • Works with speed, attention to detail, consistency, and organization.                                      
  • Maintain professional appearance.

Salary/Benefits

Salary Range: $22-27/hour

Additional Notes

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
