Duties
Candidates must have experience and knowledge in implementing an integrated curriculum with emphasis on critical thinking skill development, hands-on learning, and concrete experiences for all students. Knowledge of the Middle School concept, differentiated instruction, balanced literacy, and Response to Intervention (RtI) is preferred. The ideal applicant will possess familiarity with SMART technology/Google Suite and the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English Language Arts (ELA).
- Prepares challenging, differentiated lesson plans
- Selects and uses materials appropriate for students.
- Ensures Tier II and Tier III instructional supports in Tier I classroom setting model.
- Analyzes and organizes individual assessment results and state assessment results to determine areas of weakness and share strategies to address weaknesses through prescriptive interventions
- Collaborates with English Language Arts teachers for aligned instructional planning and delivery
- Along with whole group learning, provides explicit, scientifically based instruction to small groups of students in a guiding reading format
- Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning
- Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher relationships
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
PEL with Middle Grade Language Arts Endorsement. Pursuant to Illinois School Code, employment is conditional upon passing a background investigation.
