Duties
Identifies and evaluates students with speech and language impairments.
Participates in the determination of eligibility for special education and related services in the area of
speech and language impairment.
Participates in teacher and parent conferences, including multidisciplinary conferences, IEP meetings,
and annual reviews.
Develops and implements IEP’s for all students eligible for special education and related services in the
area of speech and language impairment.
Provides in service programs to parents, teachers, students, administrators, and other professionals.
Completes required documents and reports.
Participates on child study and teacher assistance teams.
Facilitates curriculum and instructional modifications.
Provides speech language support in PreK through grade 12 classrooms to address language deficits that impact learning in the general education classroom.
Participates in continuing professional education.
Other
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology; Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology (preferred/available); Certified Speech and Language Therapist with Illinois State Board of Education or Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist.
Salary/Benefits
As per the negotiated collective bargaining agreement based upon education and experience.
