Duties
Description: Full-time Special Education teacher for Highland Middle School Self-Contained Instructional Life Skills Program, Grades 6 through 8.
Job Summary: Applicants must be willing to:
- Learn, implement, and facilitate a structured skills delivery system for students' learning and behavior (ABA-Applied Behavior Analysis Methods and PEAK)
- Work collaboratively with the district Behavior Consultant, Special Ed Director, and Administration to design and implement a structured classroom instructional program including ABA and PEAK.
- Collect, document, organize, upload, and report data.
- Use data to drive decision-making for academics, behavior, and progress monitoring.
- Individualize lessons and deliver instruction to students with a variety of adaptive, academic, and behavioral needs.
- Participate in training and be prepared to use CPI when necessary.
- Hold IEP meetings, including annual reviews and IEP reviews.
- Manage, supervise, assist in training, and work collaboratively with paraprofessionals (program assistants).
- Write IEPs according to district Special Education Manual and state guidelines.
- Learn to use online IEP program software (embraceIEP) and other technology.
- Work collaboratively with administration and related service staff in order to deliver service to students.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Must meet requirements for reimbursement as an LBS I Endorsed Teacher.
