Duties
Educate in a blended classroom, including co-teaching within the general education setting, serving students with a wide variety of disabilities across all academic areas while fulfilling case management responsibilities. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to plan and deliver instruction through a co-teaching model.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location and the needs and capabilities of individual students and student groups.
- Prepare IEPs and maintain progress data in accordance with district, state, and federal policies.
- Evaluate student progress on a regular basis and communicate progress on IEP goals to appropriate team members in accordance with district, state, and federal policies.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant IEP records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
Qualifications
Illinois licensure with appropriate endorsements.
Salary/Benefits
Base salary is commensurate with experience and placement on the salary schedule. Benefits include 12 sick days, 3 personal days, 2 bereavement days, and up to 2 professional leave days annually. The district contributes $7,560 toward health insurance, pays 100% of the employer’s Teachers' Retirement System of Illinois contribution, and reimburses $175 per credit hour for approved coursework.

Edinburg is a true gem in the education field. The district is ideally located just outside of Springfield and Rochester on one side and Taylorville on the other, with easy access to Decatur and I-55. Our staff includes both community residents and those who enjoy a short commute from surrounding areas.
Our current K–6 enrollment is approximately 100 students, allowing our teachers to truly get to know each child and provide meaningful, individualized support.
