Duties
Provide confidential assistance to the school principal, serve as receptionist and assistant to the principal and assistant principal. Greet and direct visitors, answer and direct calls to the appropriate people, record teacher absences/substitutes for payroll and attendance tracking purposes. Accept and deposit funds, disburse funds, and assists with financial records as requested. This secretary will process student enrollment, maintain up-to-date and accurate records and files, as well as maintain student attendance records and truancy reports, completes required annual state reports and monthly updates to the State of Illinois, coordinate substitute teachers for the district, and any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; and previous secretarial experience in a school office environment preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of staff, parents, and students, and must have the ability to multi-task. Must have a strong comfort with technology, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Google Docs.
