Tech Assistant Job Description
Responsible for performing specialized technical procedures while providing customer service and support including, but not limited to, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting operating system and application software; maintaining hardware and software inventory; repair and maintenance of computers, network appliances, and instructional technology in the classrooms, conference rooms and offices.
Qualifications
Requirements include an Associate’s Degree in Computer Technology, Computer Network Administration Certificate, or Computer Repair Certification, or equivalent work experience; experience in providing technical support; broad knowledge of personal computers, networking appliances, OS X, UNIX, Linux, Microsoft 2008; Microsoft Office software applications; Apple hardware and application software; and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing (electronic and cursive formats) and verbally (phone protocols and interpersonal face-to-face situations). Knowledge of virtualization (VMWare®) of servers and desktops; iPad deployment using MDM software is desired.
