Duties
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Embrace and help grow the mission of Pleasant Valley which is to “engage, inspire, and empower each student towards academic excellence and citizenship”.
- Teach a self-contained 4th Grade classroom of students who have physical, intellectual, emotional, and/or learning disabilities.
- Work closely with other district specialists to develop individual student needs, create and achieve academic and social goals, and promote life school at school and home.
- Prepare students for standardized testing.
- Develop and enforce classroom rules.
- Contact parents to acquire & provide information on academic
- student progress, behavior and attendance when necessary.
- Supervise students during recess, lunch and extracurricular activities as needed.
- Escort students to and from classrooms upon arrival and between classes as needed.
- Establish an appropriate, positive, inclusive and safe learning environment.
- Supervise and monitor the halls during arrival, bathroom breaks, in between classes and at dismissal.
