Duties
Alexander Leigh Center for Autism is a year round therapeutic day school serving students ages 3-21. The best fit candidate loves to work with students with autism, has excellent play skills and is creative. IEP writing, assessments, parent communication and classroom management skills are needed. ABA experience is a plus! This position requires an Illinois Professional Educator License and a Leaning Behavior Specialist 1 Endorsement. Teachers are required to perform assessments, write Individualized Education Plans, communicate with parents and manage staff. The best fit candidate has experience working with verbal and non verbal populations. This classroom enrolls 4-6 students and has 1:1 instructor support. Students are learning augmentative communication and functional life skills. Daily practice in the areas of academics, self help, community and pre-vocation are the focus of this classroom. Qualifications
Qualifications - current and registered professional educator license with LBS1 endorsement.
minimum 1 year working with children with autism (verbal and non-verbal,preferred).
