Qualifications
Job Title: Director of Special Education
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Professional Educator License with General Administrative and Director of Special Education endorsements
- Master’s Degree in education, Doctorate preferred
- Deep knowledge of, and demonstrated ability in student services; and works collaboratively to support curriculum, assessment and instruction.
- Successful K-8 teaching experience, and successful leadership experience at the school and/or district level.
- Excellent leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
- Ability to research, collaborate, organize, develop and lead long-range planning
- Demonstrated ability to plan, lead, and assess professional development and school improvement efforts
- Ability to communicate with all school and community stakeholders
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
JOB GOAL: Provide leadership and vision for learning for all students in the District through the development and implementation of inclusive services that are based on effective, equity-based instruction for all students. Plan, develop, and assess functions related to inclusive service delivery (e.g. special education, 504, early childhood and birth - age 3 programming), staffing, and related services in partnership with the Department of Teaching and Learning.

Salary/Benefits
12-month contract, $120,000 minimum salary based on experience and qualifications
