Duties

• Envision Excellence as an ELA teacher for grades 6-8 in our outstanding K-8 school district
• Maximize time on task by ensuring that all classroom lessons and activities are directly tied to standards
• Participate in collaborative curriculum development, frequent professional development, and feedback/coaching meetings
• Design and implement targeted daily whole group and small group lesson plans, as well as assessments that measure progress towards academic standards
• Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
• Develop a classroom environment that promotes a passion for reading and writing.

Qualifications

Candidate must possess an Illinois Professional Educator License. Highly qualified with knowledge/experience of common core ELA learning standards, be able to work as a team, excellent communication skills with parent/guardians, students, and other staff.

Salary/Benefits

Based upon experience and education per union contract.

Damiansville SD 62 is a small K-8 district (112 students this year) in Clinton County.  Our school has earned "Exemplary" designation from ISBE in three of the last four years.  Our community in general and our PTO in particular support our staff and their efforts substantially.
