Duties
Jr. High Special Education position in a self-contained, transitional classroom for students with cognitive disabilities and/or autism. We are looking for applicants who demonstrate strong teaching skills, exceptional organization, and appropriate classroom management. Duties include, but are not limited to, develop, implement, maintain and update IEP’s for all students on educational caseload; Develop and maintain daily, written plans based on curriculum, core/state standards and IEP goals; Monitor student progress and intervene appropriately using research-based interventions; Provide differentiated learning experiences for the range of skill level and developmental needs of the students; Administer progress monitoring, benchmarking, and common assessments; Other duties as assigned. Understanding of the Common Core State Standards and Dynamic Learning Maps Essential Elements is required as Havana Junior High has transitioned to a technology embedded 1:1 curriculum along with life skills training.
Qualifications
Illinois Professional Educators License with LBS1 endorsement.
Salary/Benefits
Salary to be determined by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. https://www.havana126.net/documents/human-resources/contracts/7500.
