Duties
The classroom special education aide will support instructional by reinforcing the learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher. Additionally, the candidate would assist the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on a solid understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities. The aide would also be responsible for executing day to day activities under the direction of the teacher.
Qualifications
Ability to effectively instruct students in reading, language and math concepts using strategies that work for special education students. Ability to maintain calm and directed communication at all times. Ability to work harmoniously with staff and students. Ability to handle all school matters in a confidential manner. Familiarity with school surroundings. Paraprofessional Certificate.
Salary/Benefits
$17.00 per hour to work each attendance day from 8:05am - 3:30pm.
