Duties
We are seeking to hire a School Counselor in anticipation of an upcoming retirement at the end of the 2026–2027 school year. To ensure a smooth and successful transition, we hope to bring the selected candidate on board early to allow time for collaboration, training, and continuity of services.
The School Counselor will support approximately 250 students in a variety of areas, including academic planning, college and career exploration, social-emotional development, course selection and scheduling, and coordination of programs such as the FAFSA and ACT. The position also works closely with local community colleges and other postsecondary partners.
Our high school counseling team currently consists of one full-time School Counselor and one full-time School Social Worker, working collaboratively to meet the needs of all students.
Qualifications
As per Illinois State Board of Education certifications and requirements.
Salary/Benefits
Salary will be consistent with the schedule for certified staff- 100% District paid Health/Life/Dental insurance; 100% District paid TRS; Tuition Reimbursement, Mentor Program, Longevity and Sick Leave Bonuses to be offered by the Board of Education.
