Duties
The successful candidate will have the ability to work with students in grades 9 through age 22 with a variety of learning and developmental needs, and demonstrate knowledge of transition planning focused on post-secondary education, employment, and independent living. The position requires collaboration with special education staff, general education teachers, related service providers, and transition specialists to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support student success. The teacher will provide instruction in functional academics and daily living skills such as personal organization, money management, cooking, and household management, while promoting student independence and self-advocacy. Strong communication, organizational, and behavior management skills are essential, along with the ability to monitor student progress and maintain required special education documentation.

Illinois Professional Educators Licensure with LBS1 Endorsement
