Duties
Applicants should possess: Knowledge and skills in various methods of assessment to support eligibility decision-making, intervention plan development, and progress monitoring with a focus on Grade 9- Grade 12. Consultation and collaboration skills to be a support resource on a variety of topics (including academic interventions, behavior, patterns of development, mental health, life skills development, social skills instruction, RtI/MTSS, etc.) Ability to work collaboratively with the social worker to counsel students individually or in groups to enhance social/ emotional growth and facilitate peer relationships Strong organizational skills in order to manage and use data effectively for decision-making Ability to function as a team member through the pre-referral and referral process Ability to advocate for inclusive and developmentally-appropriate learning environments Skills to collaborate with special education and general education teachers for individualized, meaningful inclusive opportunities Skills and experience with conducting Functional Analysis of Behavior and using data to craft and implement Behavior Intervention Plans with integrity Knowledge of the reading process and best practices in instruction Knowledge to support transition planning and connecting families to community resources Assess the academic, behavioral and emotional needs of students using formal and informal testing instruments Conduct observations of students in a classroom and at play, review school records, consult with parents and school personnel, administer assessments and interpret diagnostic findings
Qualifications
Qualifications: The qualified candidate will have a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an endorsement in School Psychology. BCBA preferred Flexibility and strong communication skills Leadership, initiative, and teaming skills Specific skills related to proficient use of technology systems, computers and electronic communication devices and the ability to develop, implement, modify and assess student academic progress.
