High School Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and standards-based lesson across various Family and Consumer Science disciplines. Courses could include: Foods 1, Foods 2, Child Care 1, Child Care 2, Child Development, and Education 1.
Oversee hands-on laboratory experiences (such as culinary kitchens), ensuring all equipment is maintained and strict health and safety protocols are followed.
Monitor and evaluate student progress, maintain an accurate grade book, and provide timely feedback to support student growth.
Establish a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment that promotes student engagement, respect, and responsibility.
Work collaboratively with other CTE staff, school counselors, and the administration to align curriculum with state standards.
Maintain open and consistent communication with parents/guardians regarding student behavior, progress, and course expectations.

Current IL PEL license with an endorsement in FACS at the secondary level.

As determined by the Board of Education and the current negotiated DCMEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This opening is for the 2027-2028 school year.
