Junior High English/Language Arts APPLY ONLINE

Duties

  1. Shall be under the supervision of the Superintendent/Principal and shall cooperate with them in everything affecting the welfare and management of the school.
  2. Teaches District approved Language Arts and Social Studies curriculum, primarily Literacy (Reading, Writing, and Grammar).
  3. Analyzes student data and makes data based decisions to create the best instructional outcomes.
  4. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
  5. Plans a program of study, employing a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
  6. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  7. Helps promote goodwill toward our school in their contacts with the public.
  8. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  9. Establishes and maintains a well managed classroom environment, demonstrating organization, consistency, and care for students.
  10. The Principal will be responsible for the assignment of teaching staff. Assignments will be made according to the school's need and on as equitable a basis as possible.
  11. Utilize the Capturing Kids’ Hearts framework of Engaging, Exploring, Communicating, Empowering, and Launching students. (Training will be provided by the district)
  12. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects. Clearly communicates these objectives to students.
  13. Evaluates academic and social growth of students, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
  14. Provides feedback on student Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and 504 plans as designated by administration. Implement IEPs as written.
  15. Participates in IEP and 504 plan meetings with district administration and other staff as determined by district administration.
  16. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  17. Remains available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day, such as parent teacher conferences.
  18. Teachers witnessing accidents in the building or on the school grounds should report all details to the Principal.
  19. Performs all other duties reasonably related to the position as may be assigned by the Building Superintendent/Principal.

Qualifications

  1. Teaching certificate for the particular position as required by the State.
  2. Must be proficient with the use of computers including but not limited to email, the Internet, word processing, and electronic spreadsheets (Google Suite).
  3. Establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with those contacted in the course of work (students, parents, and staff).
  4. Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions.
  5. Ability to communicate to students, parents and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner.

Salary/Benefits

New teachers with no experience will start at $44,171. Salary increases based upon education and years of experience.
