Duties
The Special Education Coordinator will:
- Coordinate State Standardized testing for cooperative students.
- Facilitate and serve as LEA at IEP meetings.
- Work with the office manager and districts to enter data into iStar.
- Provide technical assistance and support to special education teachers and related service providers.
- Evaluate staff
- Assist with Medicaid programs
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
This position is a 190 day a year position.
Qualifications
The candidate will hold one of the following: LBSI Professional Educator License OR A Profession Educator License with a School Support Personnel endorsement in School Social Work, Speech and Language Pathology, or Psychology AND General Administrative Endorsement

Additional Notes
SMASE serves the member districts of Mt. Olive CUSD 5, Staunton CUSD 6, and Gillespie CUSD 7. This position will be based primarily in Staunton Unit Schools with one to two days a week in Mt. Olive CUSD 5. This is a 9 1/2 month position.
