Duties
•Assist in the preparation of financial reports for the Board of Education. •Prepare all tax forms relating to payroll matters such as but not limited to W-4, W-3, 1099, 1094, 1095 and W9. •Prepare and maintain all records for payroll, insurance, union dues, salary deductions, salary benefits, substitutes, stipends, attendance, etc. •Assist the superintendent in completing all financial reports for the State of Illinois, TRS, ISBE, IMRF, etc. •Maintain personnel files for current, former, and new employees in accordance to ISBE requirements. •Make expenditure and revenue transactions. •Examine financial documents, records, and accounts to assist the superintendent in making sound financial decisions for the district. • Coordinate and work with the independent auditors chosen by the Board of Education. •Evaluate and make recommendations to the superintendent regarding internal auditing. •Reconcile financial balances with the district treasurer on a monthly basis, tracing any errors and recording adjustments if needed. •Pay the district’s bills. •Make recommendations to the superintendent regarding any needed changes or areas of improvement . •Complete financial reporting on a quarterly basis including but not limited to Federal Taxes, State Taxes, Grants, etc. •Complete the annual TRS report. •Comply with all Affordable Care Act Requirements including but not limited to providing the required documentation for all employees, documenting hours worked in accordance with the required measurement periods, completing 1095 and 1094 forms and submitting them in a timely manner. •Update all Activity Funds. •Operate computers programmed with the District’s financial software. •Receive, record, and deposit cash, checks, and money orders. •Prepare bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, and other forms of payments to banks. •Monitor status of loans and accounts to ensure that payments are up to date. •Assist employees in processing workers compensation claims. •Process monthly time sheets of hourly employees. •Maintain and process sick, vacation, and personal leave requests/records. •Perform other duties assigned by the superintendent.
Qualifications
Education: High School Graduate or GED is required. The ideal candidate will have at least an Associate's Degree in a related field of study (Accounting or Business) or prior experience as a bookkeeper.
Salary/Benefits
Salary: $45,000-$55,000 (Salary will be dependent on education and experience); IMRF Retirement; Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance offered; Annual Sick, Personal, and Vacation Time
