Duties
The SLP will provide services at McKinley Elementary School (K-4) for four days per week and will provide speech services at another Ottawa school location (TBD) on the fifth day. The time at McKinley will be a blend of low-incidence and speech only students.
Qualifications
Valid State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL), - Speech and Language Endorsement required.
Salary/Benefits
Salary/Benefits: The current CBA allows OES to accept up to seven years of experience from other school districts. In addition to this, OES SLP's move three additional steps and move over to MA + 15.
The current collective bargaining agreement only goes through the current 2025-2026 school year where an SLP with zero years of experience would start out with a base salary of $52,791 (Step 3, lane MA+15) plus full TRS contribution. With seven or more years of experience the SLP would start out at $67,572. The successful candidate may also elect to to work an additional five days at their daily rate ($293 - $375). BCBS health insurance (including dental & vision) are also available at a minimal cost to the candidate. It is anticipated that the base salary will increase for the 2026-2027 school year under the new collective bargaining agreement.
