Duties

Essential Duties:

• Provide a welcoming and helpful point of contact for students, staff, families, and visitors
• Monitor visitor access and support building safety procedures
• Maintain the school master calendar
• Assist in the coordination of report card, midterm, and/or honor roll distribution
• Arrange and schedule appointments
• Manage student and staff records in accordance with confidentiality requirements
• Coordinate pre- and post–school year preparation
• Manage inventory and distribute office supplies
• Process new and transferring students
• Obtain coverage for last-minute teacher absences
• Assist in planning and operation of school functions
• Enter work-order requests
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal

Other Responsibilities:

• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders via phone, email, and in person
• Utilize district-approved systems and software to maintain accurate records and documentation
• Support efficient daily operations of the school office

Additional Duties:

• Respond to student, staff, and parent/guardian concerns and work collaboratively to ensure needs are met
• Promote a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful school environment
• Participate in meetings as assigned by the Principal or Assistant Principal
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• School office experience preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
• Bilingual Spanish or Urdu a plus

Salary/Benefits

• Work Year: 215 working days, plus nine paid holidays
• Leave: 14 Sick Days / 2 Personal Days
• FLSA Status: Non-exempt 
• Retirement: IMRF
• Benefits: Yes, See Article III of District 68 Classified Organization Representing Employees
• Salary: O-4, $25.32 - $37.39 hourly (2026-2027)
