Duties
The Cissna Park C.U.S.D. 6 Board of Education is currently accepting applications for the position of Elementary Principal. The person employed for the position will provide administrative and supervisory services for approximately 125 students and 15 staff members in grades K-5.
- Demonstrate support for the mission, beliefs, and goals of Cissna Park CUSD 6.
- Provide vision and leadership to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instructional programs.
- Use student achievement data to guide instructional decisions and continuous school improvement.
- Support teachers through observation, evaluation, coaching, and professional development.
- Promote and sustain a safe and respectful school environment.
- Implement student discipline procedures that are progressive, fair, and consistent.
- Encourage collaboration, innovation, and shared leadership among staff.
- Recruit, hire, and retain high-quality staff members.
- Supervise and evaluate certified and classified personnel.
- Cultivate a positive, collaborative culture that values teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Oversee day-to-day building operations, including scheduling, facilities management, and student activities.
- Work and communicate with other district administrators and district department heads to ensure district unity, consistency, and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with district policies, state and federal regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to support school goals.
- Lead crisis management, safety drills, and emergency preparedness.
- Maintain open and transparent communication with families regarding student progress, school programs, and district initiatives.
- Build strong partnerships with parents, guardians, and community organizations.
- Represent the school positively within the Cissna Park School District community.
- Encourage family engagement in school activities, events, and decision-making.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Salary/Benefits
Salary and Benefits will be set by the Board of Education and will be based on experience and education level.
