Assistant Superintendent For Learning APPLY ONLINE

Duties

The Assistant Superintendent for Learning provides leadership to assure a viable curriculum in each classroom; clear, understandable, and demonstrable student learning outcomes (competencies); success criteria for learning outcomes (competencies), quality practices that inspire, engage, and empower the student to learn; assessments that measure and inform learning; quality and timely feedback to improve or extend learning; and skills that help a student learn that are relevant to the student's world. The learning environment will reflect a growth mindset, instructional risk taking, and thinking (critically, creatively, reflective, etc) to develop each student's skills, comprehensive intellect, and potential, in an effort to build the foundation necessary for current and future success at school, career, and life.

Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educators License with General Administrative or Principal Endorsement.
  • Superintendent’s Licensure required (or in progress).
  • Master’s degree in education or related field, Doctorate preferred.
  • Past Experience as a Classroom Teacher, Principal, and District Administrator preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or implementing competency-based, mastery-based, or personalized learning systems.
  • Deep knowledge of curriculum, assessment, grading, and instructional leadership.
  • Experience leading instructional change and systems of transformation.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience including PK-8 instructional leadership, curriculum development, competency based systematic abilities, pedagogy, andragogy, teaching, assessment, brain-science, and supervisory experience.

Supervises: Provides supervision, leadership, development, direction, and support to all employees in conjunction with Building and District Administration in all aspects of learning including curriculum, assessment, strategies, systems, feedback, reporting, resources, technology, communications, structures, programming, and pedagogy.
