Speech/Language Pathologist

Duties

Lincoln Trail Elementary is currently accepting applications for a Speech Language Therapist.  The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide prevention, assessment, and intervention services for students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.  The SLP works collaboratively with educators, families, and support staff to support students' communication skills and overall educational success.  This position begins with the 2026-2027 school year. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students suspected of having speech or language disorders
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) related to speech and language services
  • Provide direct therapy services individually and in small groups
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Participate in IEP meetings and team conferences
  • Support classroom-based communication strategies and interventions
  • Comply with district policies, procedures, and professional standards

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with SLP endorsement
  • American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • School-based experience preferred
