Career and Technical Education Teacher: Accounting, Business, & MS Office

 

(Start Date: August 2025)

Gardner South Wilmington High School District 73 is seeking a passionate and skilled Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher to join our team for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. We're looking for an educator who can inspire students in the fields of Accounting, Business, and Microsoft Office applications, preparing them for future academic and career success.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to develop and deliver engaging curriculum that provides students with practical, real-world skills. You'll foster a dynamic learning environment where students can explore their interests in business, gain a foundational understanding of accounting principles, and master essential Microsoft Office tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Design and implement effective lesson plans for courses in accounting, business, and Microsoft Office.

  • Provide hands-on instruction and project-based learning opportunities.

  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.

  • Integrate current industry trends and technologies into the curriculum.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and the community to enhance the CTE program.

  • Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.

  • Advise students on post-secondary pathways, including college and career opportunities in business and related fields.


 

Qualifications

 

  • Valid state teaching certification in Career and Technical Education or a related field (e.g., Business Education, Accounting).

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a closely related discipline.

  • Demonstrated expertise and proficiency in accounting principles, business concepts, and all core Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Prior teaching experience at the high school level is preferred, but relevant industry experience will also be considered.

  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to connect with all learners.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Salary/Benefits

Step 1 Year 1: $40,955 and up with experience.
