Duties

1. Plan and provide appropriate instruction for high school students
2. Implement best practice instructional strategies to support content areas
3. Assist students as needed with feedback and support
4. Establish and maintain a classroom climate and management plan conducive to learning
5. Contribute as a team member and/or leader to all school improvement initiatives
6. Use technology as a means to support the work of teachers and students
7. Cooperate in carrying out school district rules and regulations
8. Be punctual and regular in attendance
9. Maintain accurate records and reports
10. Perform other duties as assigned
11. Actively participate as a member of a professional learning community

Qualifications

1. Valid Illinois Professional Educator’s Licensure with High School English endorsement with a Masters Degree in Speech
2. Experience working collaboratively with other teachers
3. Experience in flexible grouping, including small group and individual instructional practices
4. Cooperate in carrying out school and district policies and regulations
5. Demonstrate teaching skills necessary to perform duties, including maintaining classroom control, utilizing appropriate techniques and being knowledgeable about subject matter
