Duties

About the Position:

Marian Catholic is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to lead our Softball program. We are looking for a coach who embodies sportsmanship, leadership, and the commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court. The Head Coach will be responsible for managing all aspects of the softball program, including player development, game strategy, practice planning, and program administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the softball program, including JV and freshman levels.
  • Develop and implement effective practice plans and game strategies.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and respect.
  • Communicate regularly with players, parents, faculty, and the athletic department.
  • Ensure program compliance with school, ESCC & IHSA regulations
  • Manage assistant coaching staff and coordinate off-season training programs.
  • Support student-athletes with college recruitment efforts, as applicable.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Previous successful experience coaching softball at the high school level (head coaching experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to serve as a role model and mentor to student-athletes.
  • Must meet all school & state coaching certification requirements (e.g., CPR/First Aid, coaching certification, background check & VIRTUS Training).
  • Additional teaching and/or staff positions may be available depending on candidates qualifications/certifications.
