Duties

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing high-quality instructional leadership and job-embedded professional learning for the ROE 33 Region serviced by the PD Consortium, which includes the following counties - Henderson, Knox, Mercer, and Warren - as well as some statewide events. This also includes leading school district improvement and curriculum planning and providing content-related leadership and instructional coaching expertise.                        

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & CRITICAL SKILLS 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree
  2. Professional Educator License
  3. Three or more years of successful teaching experience
  4. Previous experience in a leadership role, coaching role, and curriculum development preferred
  5. Experience planning and delivering adult learning opportunities
  6. Demonstrate exemplary classroom practices and possess deep understanding of learning theories/content knowledge
  7. Knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc. and Virtual Meeting Platforms.
  8. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  9. Ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs.
  10. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and an acceptable/courteous manner. 
  11. Understanding and awareness of multicultural needs
  12. Ability to maintain a positive and collaborative relationship/attitude across all ROE programs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Professional Learning

  1. Develop and provide professional learning for educators, instructional coaches, and administrators in content areas and continuous school improvement
  2. Provide/assist in the development of professional learning delivered by instructional coaches to teachers throughout the PD Consortium
  3. Develop professional learning sessions/training that support curriculum, standards, instruction, and assessment
  4. Provide regional delivery of federal and/or state-approved programs and services in education, as authorized in Section 2-3.62 of the IL School Code and as directed by the State Superintendent of Education
  5. Collaborate with PD Consortium Team and district professional learning staff to develop professional learning that is tailored to specific school needs
  6. Provide job-embedded professional learning through coaching support/modeling to teachers and teacher teams as necessary
  7. Facilitate/support the development and maintenance of a guaranteed and viable curriculum for all students
  8. Support the development and maintenance of curricular assessments as needed
  9. Support the evaluation of curricular program effectiveness by collecting, analyzing, and reporting findings from a variety of data sources
  10. Provide support to PD Consortium Team and district professional learning staff to improve the implementation of research-based, best practices for adult learning
  11. Provide training, coaching, and modeling in classroom management, content delivery, instructional strategies, and assessment practices (specifically in literacy best practices)
  12. Extend content-specific competencies through professional learning and training sessions for instructional coaches, educators, and administrators
  13. Identify needs and make recommendations for next steps in professional learning related to instructional practices, content-specific knowledge, and school improvement
  14. Provide training and coaching regarding content knowledge and sound pedagogical practices for students in a variety of classroom settings and grade levels
  15. Establish and foster strong, professional relationships with administrators, educators, PD Consortium Team, as well as those in region and state associations
  16. Serve as a member of the Professional Learning Advisory/School Improvement Team
  17. Assist in the development, implementation, evaluation, and refinement of ROE and School District coaching frameworks and improvement plans
  18. Assist with and attend professional learning provided by the PD Consortium and School Districts across the PD Consortium Regions
  19. Complete professional learning necessary to maintain certifications
  20. Spotlight and advocate academic-related topics for parents, staff, district administrators, and when appropriate, school board members
  21. Engage in gathering and analyzing data on instructional practices across the PD Consortium Regions
  22. Use/model relevant technology and learning tools for adults and students
  23. Complete any necessary data collection and documentation
  24. Adhere to and communicate a fee structure for member school districts and registration fees for PD activities to ensure cost recovery to the PD Consortium
  25. Follow PD Consortium event planning process
  26. Prepare necessary training materials and documents associated with the training being delivered
  27. Meet with school and district leadership teams to conduct needs assessments to determine school, district, and regional needs
  28. Work with the Director of Professional Learning to create a regional plan for professional learning that aligns with school and district improvement goals
  29. Plan and develop professional learning in a variety of formats, such as technical assistance, face-to-face workshops, networking, and coaching
  30. Participate in the design and implementation of data collection, reporting, and evaluation for professional learning supports
